The whole of Tuscany at your disposal...
Palazzo Cervini is located just one and a half hours from the seaside resorts of Castiglione della Pescaia and the famous Costa Argentario to the south. In the same area one can easily reach the fascinating national parks of the Maremma host to rare Mediterranean forests of cork trees (Quercus suber) and the symbolic marine pine (Pinus marittima). Along the way you will pass through the magical countryside of Scansano, Saturnia where one could take a quick, healing dip in the free thermal baths that have been appreciated by the Romans and the Etruscans alike.
Splendid ancient Tuscan villages such as Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano will be passed on the way to the seaside, where the intriguing and highly fascinating Etruscan Necropolis can be enjoyed at your leisure. Whereas, on the other side of the volcano, within just 30 mins one can reach the vastly popular towns of Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano and taste their magnificent wines, olive oils and local produce.
Siena lies just 1 hour’s drive from Palazzo Cervini and the journey will take you through some of the most stunning and breathtaking countryside, known as the Crete Senese, heralded across the world as being amongst the ‘finest Tuscan countryside’. The spectacular city of Rome and Florence can be reached in just 2 hours and the glorious towns of Perugia, Viterbo and Orvieto are all within a day trip from Palazzo Cervini.
An hour and half’s drive will take you to the infamous wine region of Chianti, Castellina and San Gimignano, famous for it’s romantic architecture and its stunning towers. However, without travelling too far one can choose to just drive along and discover the endless white roads of the Val d’Orcia, stopping off to taste wine, cheese and marvel at the breathtaking scenery that has made the Val d’Orcia one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world.
We hope that a few of you will take the time to discover the immediate countryside surrounding the estate of Palazzo Cervini and that some of you will happily put your feet up in front of a glorious log fire and enjoy one of our local wines, such as Brunello, Vino Nobile di Montepilciano, a red from Montecucco or a Morellino di Scansano.
